  1. Abraham Lincoln was the co-owner of a store/tavern in Salem, Illinois. At this tavern, you could purchase half pints of French brandy and wine for just $0.25.
  2. Abraham Lincoln was the first president to serve wine at an official White House function (though it was actually his better half who put wine on the menu). One of the wines mentioned was of the Norton grape from Missouri.
  3. Abraham Lincoln’s drink of choice was Madeira, and a friend once wrote: “The Madeira and sherry that he has consumed would fill more than one old cellar.”

Do you think you can spot the presidential wine history lie? Don’t forget, you must be 21 years of age to enter. Cheers!
